Mutual Aid to Pierrepont Fire

Fire Chief Robert Crowe, November 19

Central Dispatch alerted Canton Fire and Rescue at 0926 hours to a mutual aid call to assist Pierrepont Fire for a structure fire at 277 Post Road. The initial request was for the tanker and an ambulance. A request for a pumper and manpower followed shortly thereafter. Ambulance 133, Tanker 20 and Engine 8 all responded. Fire Chief Robert Crowe, November 18

The Canton Fire Department is saddened by news of the passing of past member Brett Grandaw. Brett is the brother of FF Robert "Bugsy" Grandaw Jr. and was currently serving as First Assistant Chief of the Pierrepont Fire Department and as a NYS Fire Instructor. Our condolences go out to Brett's family and friends.

Working House Fire on Pine Street

At 0034 hours the tones were tripped by Central Dispatch for a reported house fire on Pine Street in the village. Chief Bob Crowe arrived on scene within five minutes, established command, and reported working fire with heavy smoke showing in a multiple dwelling. 1st Assistant Fire Chief Brian McCluskey, October 26

The Canton Chamber of Commerce holds a yearly event called "Phantom in the Park" that starts and ends at the village park. Kids dress up in their favorite costumes and go "Trick or Treating" at downtown businesses. Sparky and Canton Fire & Rescue have also joined this event for the last several years. 3 Vehicle MVA

1st Assistant Fire Chief Brian McCluskey, October 21

On 10/21/2015 at 0747hs, the tones dropped for Canton Fire and Rescue for a 2 Car Motor Vehicle Accident on CR#25 in front of Parkway Auto Group. Units were responding within minutes. On arrival found 3 vehicles involved, Ford F-150, Chrysler Van and Backhoe. No extrication was required, and all occupants out of the vehicles.
