Open Burning Restrictions Take Effect
MARCH 13
- The Department of Environmental Conservation is reminding St. Lawrence County residents that all residential brush burning is prohibited during the state's historically high-fire-risk period beginning March 16 through May 14.

CFD Extends Condolences To The Owego Fire Department
JANUARY 22
- The members of Canton Fire and Rescue extend their condolences to the members of the Owego Fire Department in Tioga County. Captain Matthew Porcari was killed and Lieutenant Daniel Gavin was injured fighting a house fire late last night. Lt. One Car Rollover with Challenging Extrication
NOVEMBER 17
- At 0735 the tones dropped for Canton Fire and Rescue for a reported one car rollover with injuries on SH 310. A NYSP car came upon the accident just after it happened and made the request for fire and ems and the troopers initiated patient care immediately.
