Quack Attack Golf Tourney Donates $500 JUNE 16 - On June 14th, the family and friends of Art Quackenbush held the "Quack Attack" Golf Tournament to celebrate his retirement from his position as Middle School Principal at Canton Central. The proceeds of the golf tournament were donated to the Canton Rescue Squad to thank them for their quick response in saving Art's life when he had a heart attack several years ago and went into cardiac arrest. St. Mary's Teacher Named FASNY's Teacher of The Year MAY 22 - Ann Chestnut, a kindergarten teacher at he St. Mary's School, was named the 2008 FASNY Teacher Of The Year. Mrs. Chestnut was nominated by St. Mary's Principal Susan Proux for her work with the kindergartener's in that area of fire safety. Department Loses Elder Statesman In Past Chief Olen "Rip" Bristol APRIL 25 - The Canton Fire Department is mourning the loss of Treasurer and Past Chief Olen C. "Rip" Bristol. Chief Bristol passed away on Thursday evening at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT where he had been a patient on and off for the past year.
