MCI MVA Drill JUNE 25 - Thursday evening a number of members of Canton Fire and Rescue and mutual aid members from various departments took part in a combined drill in the P&C parking lot. The "call" was for a 2 car MVA and when Third Assistant Chief McClusky assumed incident command he reported 6 victims and extrication would be needed on at least one of the vehicles. Mutual Aid Structure Fire in Potsdam JUNE 13 - The tones dropped at 2041 hours for a mutual aid call to Potsdam Fire requesting personnel for a structure fire on Pine Street in the village. Rescue 1 responded at 2043 hours. Twenty four Canton Fire personnel worked with members of Potsdam Fire, West Potsdam Fire and Norwood Fire to contain the fire to the second floor apartment and rear of the building. Working Barn Fire on the Old DeKalb Road JUNE 03 - The tones dropped at 1754 hours for a reported working barn fire at the TeRiele Farm on the Old DeKalb Road, just outside the village. Third Assistant Chief Brian McCluskey was enroute immediately, advised that it was in the air, and to activate the Tanker Task Force. Early Morning Garage Fire Wakes Three Departments MAY 25 - At 0338 hours this morning, Canton Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a reported working garage fire at 181 Rice Rd. 2nd Asst Chief Erik Johnson arrived on scene to find a fully involved working garage fire including a vehicle fire that was in proximity to the structure.
