At 2240 hours on April 16th Canton Fire and Rescue was dispatched auto aid to Morley Fire for a reported barn fire at the former Jordan Farm on County Route 14 in the hamlet. Engine 8 and Tanker 20 were enroute at 2245 with Rescue 1, Engine 7, Tower 1 and Ambulance 132 following thereafter. Engine 8 was assigned to set up a dump site and feed Morley Engine 29 via 5 inch LDH up the driveway. Arriving on scene at 2255, Engine 8 set up as requested and began feeding the fire fight of the fully involved dairy barn. Tanker 20 began to shuttle water while Engine 7 set up draft on the bridge. Personnel aided Morley as assigned to prevent the spread of the fire to the adjacent structures. The ambulance crew transported one member of Rennselaer Falls Fire who had fallen into a water filled tank and had to be rescued from drowning. The Tower was requested to the scene later in the fire and was set up for master stream operation. The 31 members who responded were eventually released and all Canton units were back in service at 0514 the following morning.
