Canton Fire & Rescue Responds To Pyrites For Another Wildland Fire

For the second day in a row members of Canton Fire & Rescue responded auto aid to Pyrites Fire. This fire, located at 227 North Woods Road , had gained a significant foothold in the woods which required extensive hand operations. The alarm went out at 1350 hours and crews were on the road at 1356. Engine 8, Tanker 20, Rescue 36, and UTV 4 responded with 15 members to assist crews from Pyrites Fire on working to extinguish the stubborn fire. Firefighters were eventually able to get the upper hand and extinguish the fire. Crews were back in service at 1758 hours and no injuries were reported.
