At 0044 Canton Fire and Rescue was toned out to respond auto-aid to Pyrites Fire for a reported garage fire at 121 North Woods Road. Engine 7 was first to respond followed by Ambulance 132 and Tanker 20. Pyrites Fire arrived first on scene and reported a fully involved garage fire with the house as an exposure. In addition to Tanker 20, tankers responded from Hermon, Russell, and DeKalb Junction. Due to the freezing temperatures, the Town of Canton Highway Department responded to sand the roadway to help ensure firefighter safety. The unattached garage and contents were a total loss. The cause of the blaze is under investigation at this time. All Canton units were back in service at 0345.
