At 0652 Pyrites Fire, along with Canton Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to a one vehicle rollover MVA in the vicinity of 3082 County Route 21. Pyrites Engine 92, Canton Rescue 1 and Ambulance 132 were enroute 10 minutes later. Troopers from the NYSP were the first on scene reporting extremely slippery road conditions with freezing rain. Engine 92 checked on scene and reported the lone patient had self extricated and presented only minor injuries. Pyrites Chief Matt Kielmeier assumed Incident Command and requested Ambulance 132 to continue for patient evaluation and Rescue 1 for traffic control. The patient was evaluated and refused transport. Chief Kielmeier then released Ambulance 132 and Rescue 1 while Engine 92 waited for tow company to arrive. All Canton units were back in service at 0800.
