Auto Aid MVA With Extrication
Fire Chief Robert Crowe, December 06
Canton Fire and Rescue responded auto aid to Morley Fire at 1502 for a personal injury accident with extrication. Upon arrival, members found one vehicle that had struck a tree with the driver being the only victim. Patient was removed after a short extrication and transported by Canton Rescue to Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Nineteen members responded with Rescue 1 and 2 ambulances to assist Morley Fire. ... Dry Conditions and Campfire Lead To Wildland Fire At Sand Banks

The extremely dry conditions coupled with an ill-advised campfire led to a wildland fire at the Sand Banks that kept firefighters busy for more than five hours. At 1904 hours, Canton Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the Sand Banks on outer Park Street for a reported fire in the woods. Auto Aid to Morley Fire
Firefighter Nicholas Maneely, January 21
Canton Fire & Rescue was requested as automatic mutual aid to Morley Fire for a reported structure fire in a detached garage. Engine 8, TA-20, Rescue 1 and A-131 responded immediately to the CR-14 scene. Upon arrival, Engine-8's crew went to work assisting members from Morley Fire who were already executing an aggressive interior attack on the second floor of the garage. It is with deep sadness that we announce the Firefighter Donald Tracy has lost his courageous battle with cancer early this morning. FF Tracy was a 36 year member of the Canton Fire Department and was a former EMT and AEMT-CC. Don was a happy guy who brightened a room when he walked in. It is with a profound sense of sadness that we announce the passing of Firefighter Matt McGregor. Firefighter McGregor was a past Assistant Chief and had recently celebrated his 35th year with the department. Our hearts go out to his sons Scott McGregor and First Assistant Chief Shawn McGregor. Matt had a big heart and made the department a lively place to be. He will be sorely missed.
